Monroe County Job Training, funded through Title
I of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) has helped thousands of
individuals obtain the training and skills to prepare them for work.
This program serves youths, older workers, welfare recipients,
dislocated workers (people who have permanently laid off because of
plant closings or cutbacks), veterans and others who need additional
skills to get a job.
We work with local businesses to find out what jobs are available
and the skills they require job applicants to possess when applying
for these positions. Monroe County Job Training provides
training for jobs that are in demand, cost free to eligible job
seekers.
